Perpetual spinach, or spinach beet is a great Summer crop when traditional spinach would struggle with heat.

The Gator variety is easy to grow and quick to mature, providing abundant crops of large green leaves over a long cropping season. Can be used fresh in salads or lightly cooked like spinach.

When to Plant: All Year Round (avoiding the coldest months)

Sow: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter

Harvest: 8-10 weeks

Soil Type: Fertile, Compost

How to Grow: 

Sow 12mm (1/2in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart. Firm gently and keep ground moist. Seedlings should begin to appear in approximately 10-14 days.

For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.

Thin plants to 30cm (12in) apart. Keep plants and soil moist and weed free.
